In November 2025, the historic Roxy Theatre in Nowra, New South Wales completed a major restoration with the installation of 571 Effuzi Mojo commercial cinema seats across all five screens. Following devastating floods in January that forced the 90-year-old art-deco landmark to close, the family-owned cinema chose Alloyfold to provide new cinema seating as part of a comprehensive renovation preserving the character locals know and love while modernising the facility.

The Roxy Theatre has been a cornerstone of Shoalhaven cultural life since opening on Berry Street in August 1935. Designed by renowned architects Crick and Furse, the art-deco cinema has served generations of South Coast families. When severe flooding on January 28, 2025 caused widespread damage requiring a complete roof replacement and internal rebuild, General Manager Mel Rose saw an opportunity to honour the cinema's heritage while equipping it for another 90 years of service. The restoration of all five screens became critical for the Shoalhaven region, which relies on the Roxy as its primary cinema venue.

Working within a tight renovation timeline, our team coordinated the delivery and installation of 571 commercial cinema seats in just 10 days during November 2025. Cinema 1, the largest screen with 123 seats, features striking red vinyl upholstery creating a bold cinema atmosphere. The remaining four screens, totaling 320 movie seats, were fitted with dark charcoal vinyl complementing the modern upgrades. The order included spare seats for future maintenance needs. The cinema manager selected the Effuzi Mojo for its proven performance in Australian and New Zealand cinemas, delivering reliable comfort and durability for over 15 years in high-traffic environments.

The Effuzi Mojo cinema seats feature robust steel frames with ergonomically moulded cushioning using varying densities of multi-layered foam for long-lasting comfort. The commercial-grade vinyl upholstery is designed for high-use cinema environments, with zipped-on covers enabling easy maintenance and replacement. Each seat includes lounge-style arms with extended forearm support and a wide back design for extra space and privacy. The cinema seating is backed by a comprehensive 5-year commercial warranty, giving operators confidence for years of dependable service.
