Oak Tree values safety highly. Our own policies, and those of our customers, are strictly adhered to.

All Oak Tree employees must comply with these policies.

OAK TREE LABOUR HIRE HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY

• High visibility vests and steel capped safety boots must be worn at all times when working.
  
  
• Be alert around forklifts in operation, especially when a forklift is entering or exiting a container.
  
  
• Forklifts are to be operated only by those carrying a forklift license, and then only by those specified by an Oak Tree site supervisor.
  
  
• Forklifts must be driven sensibly and safely at all times.
  
  
• Pallet jacks are not to be used to move loaded pallets down container ramps
  
  
• Prior to forklifting loaded pallets of fragile goods out of a container 2 bands of shrink wrap should be applied to stabilize the load.
  
  
• Always stand clear of container doors when opening to avoid injury from falling goods which may have been leaning against the doors.
  
  
• If goods in the container are leaning forward and there is risk of injury due to falling stock, cease work in the container and call an Oak Tree supervisor.
  
  
• Audio headphones must not be worn at any time while working.
  
  
• Any injury sustained at work must be reported to the site supervisor and an Oak Tree supervisor. In addition an Oak Tree Labour Hire Incident Report Form must be completed straight away.
  
  
• Any damage to machinery or goods must be reported to the site supervisor and an Oak Tree supervisor. In addition an Oak Tree Labour Hire Incident Report Form must be completed straight away.
  
  
• To prevent back injury, bend knees when lifting heavy objects.
  
  
• When required to unload bags that are dusty, the safety glasses and dust masks supplied must be worn.
  
  
• If you notice any hazards, or potential hazards, at a work site, these must be reported to the site manager.
  
  
• Full compliance with health & safety policies in place on specific work sites is required in addition.
